atriga expresses gratitude with donation for tireless commitment to animal welfare

At Christmas 2025, atriga continued its long-standing tradition of charitable giving and once again presented cheques to two dedicated animal welfare organisations in the region. The Egelsbach animal shelter and the Wildtierhilfe Schäfer e. V. association in the Vogelsberg district gratefully accepted the support – and emphasised how important this help is for their daily work.

Donations instead of gifts: a tradition with attitude

For atriga, social commitment is an integral part of its corporate culture. Instead of giving Christmas gifts to customers, the company has been consciously investing in charitable projects in region for years.

“We are delighted to be able to make a small contribution to the great work of these associations with our Christmas donation,” emphasises atriga Managing Director Christoph Ruoff. “For us, social commitment is not a one-off project, but a fundamental attitude.”

Wildtierhilfe Schäfer: A home for injured wild animals

Every year, Wildtierhilfe Schäfer cares for a large number of injured and weakened wild animals, including numerous bird species, hedgehogs, squirrels and other native wildlife. At its location in Mücke, a historic mill offers over 6,000 square metres of space for care, rearing and recovery.

In addition to financial support, the organisation also relies on volunteers – such as drivers who bring injured animals to the care centre.

Tamara Gruhn from Wildtierhilfe Schäfer: “Every donation is a sign of appreciation for our voluntary work and for the animals that depend on us.”

Egelsbach Animal Shelter: Volunteering and rising costs

For over four decades, the Egelsbach Animal Shelter has been caring for stray dogs from Germany and abroad. Around 20 volunteers regularly support the association – especially with daily walks and caring for traumatised animals.

Despite continuing challenging conditions – especially with regard to the future of the animal shelter’s buildings – the team has achieved important successes in recent months. With great dedication, numerous animals have been given medical care, lovingly looked after and successfully placed in new homes. These achievements show how much can be accomplished even under difficult conditions – and how important reliable support from donors remains in order to ensure sustainable animal welfare in the region.

Cornelia Finkbeiner from the Egelsbach animal shelter: “Every single contribution – whether large or small – is a ray of light for us, providing warmth, solidarity and strength. Together, we create the conditions for our protégés to live in safety, dignity and with loving care.”

Helping together – even beyond Christmas

Both organisations emphasise the importance of long-term support – both financial and personnel. Donations, sponsorships and voluntary work form the foundation of their work.

With its 2025 Christmas donation, atriga is once again setting an example for regional responsibility and sustainable commitment to animal welfare.

How you can help: donations and volunteering

Donations, membership fees and sponsorships are indispensable – as are the dedicated volunteers who form the heart of both organisations. The animal rights activists emphasise that anyone is welcome to get in touch, as new recruits are always sought after and needed.
