Additional costs due to postage increase affects bulk mailers

Digitization in dunning pays off.

Now it’s official: The Federal Network Agency allows Deutsche Post to significantly increase the postage for letters, up to 90 cents are conceivable. While consumers are sending fewer and fewer letters, postage is a real cost driver for mass mailers such as energy providers or insurance companies, and further increases in postage are only a matter of time. The experts at atriga GmbH in Langen advise that it is precisely the dunning departments in companies that must now exploit the great potential of digitalisation. The platform developed here makes it possible for the first time to completely digitalize all processes in receivables management and ensures a sustainable cost reduction while simultaneously increasing payment results.

Significant additional costs in the dunning process

Many large companies still send their payment reminders by mail, 100,000 letters per year and more are not uncommon. The continuous postage increases thus result in significant additional costs, but no additional benefits, such as improved quality in receivables management. In addition, these additional expenses cannot be passed on. If we look at the cost apparatus of the ‘dunning process’ in its entirety, including personnel and service, the bottom line is that only the guaranteed long-term cost increase remains, with no hope of improvement.

Complete digitalisation reduces mail dispatch

Groups in all sectors that still send letters in the corresponding quantities should, at the latest now, start thinking about alternatives or even a sensible exit. In the area of receivables management, the specialists at atriga GmbH recommend a radical rethink in the direction of ‘Total Digital’. atriga offers companies solutions in commercial dunning and debt collection that transform the sometimes completely outdated and impersonal processes into the 21st century at a stroke.

Save costs and offer better service

The fully digital technology platform offers an enormous gain in efficiency, including extensive dynamic control options and highly automated yet highly personalized processes. In this way, the most cost-effective and promising dunning strategy is applied down to the individual case level. As a result, the additional costs of the commercial dunning process can be reduced demonstrably to zero; savings in the five to six-digit euro range are not uncommon among users.

atriga managing director Christoph Ruoff explains the advantages: “Within the framework of the entire dunning process, we can relieve our clients of any cost risk, including necessary third-party costs such as letter postage and expenses. In addition, the complete digitalization enables comprehensive service offers for defaulting clients and a dunning strategy that is individually tailored to the psychology of the individual and complies with data protection regulations. Our philosophy ‘service instead of reminders’ has been proven to lead to significantly improved payment results.
